Ingredients

200g fresh sushi-grade salmon, diced

1 ripe mango, diced

1 small red onion, finely chopped

1 tablespoon capers, rinsed and chopped

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon lime juice

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional: 1 avocado, diced

Instructions

Start by preparing all the ingredients: dice the fresh salmon and mango into small, uniform cubes. Finely chop the red onion and rinse the capers before chopping them to avoid any bitterness.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the diced salmon, mango, red onion, and capers.

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Adjust the seasoning according to your preference.

Drizzle the dressing over the salmon mixture and gently toss everything together until well-coated. Be careful not to mash the salmon or mango.

If using, fold in the diced avocado gently for added creaminess.

Allow the tartare to marinate in the refrigerator for about 10-15 minutes to let the flavors meld.

To serve, use a ring mold to shape the tartare on individual plates. Carefully remove the mold to reveal a beautiful layered effect.

Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro and an additional drizzle of lime juice for a burst of freshness.
